Beyond the Check-In: Empowering Parent-Student Dialogues About Health
Strong communication between parents and students is a key factor in promoting health, resilience, and safe decision-making. Beyond the Check-In: Empowering Parent-Student Dialogues About Health equips schools with tools to spark meaningful conversations around media literacy, mental wellness, social health, and personal safety. This session introduces health and physical educators to the program’s ready-to-use resources—educational videos, conversation starters, and family-friendly guides—that can be shared across classrooms, families, and communities. Participants will explore how schools can serve as a bridge to strengthen family engagement in health, while also supporting student voice and agency. By embedding these resources into existing health and physical education efforts, educators can amplify their impact beyond the classroom walls. Attendees will leave with strategies to empower parents and students to talk openly, build trust, and make informed health choices together.
