Crossover Genius: Maximizing Good Teaching, Coaching and Instructing
This interactive presentation will focus on a strengths-based approach to develop coaches with pedagogy and standards knowledge, teachers who can address student-athlete needs, and fitness or physical activity instructors who are educationally embedded. Many enter teaching with various backgrounds and may feel underprepared to meet all expectations. Attendees will benefit through considering networking, peer-to-peer mentoring, and recognizing what expertise they have that can benefit students while also identifying areas for personal professional development. This presentation is intended for current teachers, coaches, and those pursuing alternative certification routes. The purpose of this session is to encourage all professionals within our field to consider how to learn from one another to improve our own practices by understanding what others do well that can help our students and athletes. This session is relevant as we all need to advocate for and model high-quality practices that meet standards and help students.
