CSPAP Keynote Lecture: Forward to the Past: A Flux Capacitor for Active Schools
Join the SHAPE America CSPAP Special Interest Group (SIG) for a keynote lecture from Dr. Collin Webster. In the movie “Back to the Future,” Doc invents the flux capacitor and puts it in a DeLorean to make time travel possible. A contraption like that would be handy for getting schools to be more active places. There was a time, decades ago, when active school cultures were the norm. Since then, the school day has increasingly become more sedentary, and we have made little progress in our attempts to reverse this trend. This lecture considers the question, “Moving forward, how can we harness lessons learned from CSPAP research - a veritable engine of change - to get the needle past 88 mph so we can finally arrive in a future that looks more like the past?”
