Let’s Talk Wellness: Exploring 10 Dimensions of Wellness in the Skills-Based Health Ed Classroom
Many performance indicators within the SHAPE America National Health Education Standards ask students to apply their learning across a variety of dimensions of wellness. In addition, Standard 1 seeks to have students develop an understanding of the role that concepts from Health Belief model, perceived susceptibility, perceived severity and self-efficacy, play in achieving positive health outcomes. In this session, participants will explore ways to address these concepts within 10 dimensions of wellness (emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, multicultural, occupational, physical, sexual, social, spiritual) and identify teaching strategies to meaningfully integrate multiple dimensions of wellness into the skills-based health classroom.
