More Than a Game: Purposeful Teaching With Tactical Games Model
The Tactical Games model (TGM) is a games-based teaching approach for physical education. Within this instructional model for physical education the focus is on placing students in game situations where tactics, decision-making and problem solving are critical, and skill development and execution is meaningful to the context of the game (Lund & Tannehill, 2015). This session highlights key insights from a veteran physical educator who implemented a TGM unit into her curriculum for a Ph.D. course project. Through compelling personal experiences, scholars will share practical strategies for TGM implementation, offering ideas for your own practices. Discover how TGM can revamp student engagement and increase student cognition for sport.
