Self-Contained Classes Attending Physical Education With a General Education Class - Violation of the Law?

Is the attendance of all students from a self-contained special education class with a general education class in one "Inclusive Physical Education Class" lawful? Schools often follow this process. But it is probably not (depending on the exact makeup of the students) a practice that is in line with special education legislation and court rulings. This leads to the following questions that will be discussed:

Why is this practice followed? What can be done instead? Are parents aware of this possibility? Are administrators aware? Why does this often happen? What are possibly remedies to the situation?
