Skill Development in Health Education
This session explores the five steps of the skill development model, a key component of a skills-based health education curriculum that improves health literacy. Participants will learn how this model moves beyond simply providing health information, focusing instead on practicing, applying, and reinforcing skills. Participants will examine each step of the skill development model and learn how to use them in their classroom. Practical strategies for implementing all five steps of the skill development model into everyday teaching practices and curriculum development will be shared, helping educators develop long-lasting, transferable skills that enhance individual and collective health and well-being.
