Teaching is a Joke - Learning Through Laughing

Thursday 19 February 2026·7:00 pm

Brian Dawydiuk is a full time teacher and a stand up comedian.  Brian started doing comedy in order to start an option class at his school.  What started as a educational experience has turned into a passion.  The use of humour has helped connect with students but it also served another subconscious purpose in his life. In November of 2025, Brian experienced burnout from masking Autism for 46 years.  It took many weeks to recover but he sees this experience as an opportunity to use his experience to possibly help others.  This session will playfully share stories as a student unaware he has Autism, lessons he learned as a professional poker player and how his use of humour in his teaching practice and personal life has been shaped by being Autistic.  This session is designed to laugh while you learn. 80 Participants
