Six Essential Components of a Successful Dual Language Immersion Program

This session will provide participants with an overview of six components to consider when developing a dual language bilingual education program. These components, based on the Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education, include: 1) DLI plan, 2) mission and vision, 3) TK-12 DLBE pathway, 4) parent and family education, 5) curriculum and assessment, and 6) support for dual language program and teacher professional development. An important session for district and school leaders of dual language programs, as well as for those stakeholders invested in the development of a new dual language program.
