The Australian Literacy Educators' Association (ALEA) encourages educators to stay connected with their professional community through membership, events, and ongoing engagement with literacy education networks across Australia. ALEA serves as the peak professional body for literacy educators in Australia, providing a vital link between research, policy, and classroom practice for teachers committed to evidence-informed literacy instruction. Staying connected with ALEA provides educators with access to a rich ecosystem of professional learning opportunities, research publications, and collegial networks. Members receive the Australian Journal of Language and Literacy (AJLL), a peer-reviewed research journal, as well as Literacy Learning: the Middle Years for those working with students in Years 5–9. ALEA's state and territory councils run regular professional learning events, conferences, and networking opportunities that keep educators engaged with current research and innovative practice. ALEA's call to stay connected reflects the understanding that professional growth in literacy education is an ongoing journey best supported by a community of practice.
