Write for ALEA's Premier Research Journal

The Australian Literacy Educators' Association (ALEA) invites literacy researchers and practitioners to contribute to its premier research publication, the Australian Journal of Language and Literacy (AJLL). Published three times per year, AJLL is a peer-reviewed journal abstracted and indexed with Elsevier that serves as the leading Australian forum for scholarly work on language and literacy education, with an acceptance rate of approximately 20%. AJLL welcomes research manuscripts that address language and literacy education across the full spectrum—from early childhood through adult literacy, including English as an additional language, Indigenous education, and learners with diverse language and literacy needs. The journal aims to keep readers informed about current national and international literacy research, enhance understanding of language and literacy issues within their wider educational and social contexts, provide a forum for literacy professionals to exchange ideas, and present in-depth investigations of literacy practices and theories. This call for contributions represents an opportunity for literacy researchers to share their work with ALEA's extensive network of educators across Australia and internationally. Whether you are an established researcher or an emerging academic, AJLL offers a respected platform for disseminating evidence-based insights that can directly inform classroom practice and literacy policy. ALEA also publishes Literacy Learning: the Middle Years (LLMY), focused on teaching literacies in Years 5–9, for those whose research addresses that specific developmental stage.
