Early Literacy in the Mainstream Classroom  – P-4

Free

Presented by Critical Agendas

Monday 30 March 2026·11:30 pm

Classroom teachers, EAL Specialists, support staff

In EAL Early literacy Professional Development, Daniella will be working with participants on strategies that allow students to begin to access and interact with English literacy in the classroom environment. We will look at a variety of strategies that begin the process of students becoming speakers, readers and writers of English and how to support them along the EAL Curriculum, entering Pathways A: Early Immersion.

Daniella is an EAL (English as an Additional Language) Education Consultant, Learning Specialist and Leading Educator. She has neatly crafted approachable and successful programs, working with teachers and schools to develop their EAL programs and practices. Daniella provides ongoing Professional Development focussed on building staff capacity and guidance in school-wide practices. Working in classrooms across mainstreams schools, she has a developed understanding of the challenges presented when having to teach dual curriculums and reach all learners. Teaching English Language is now the responsibility of all teachers and Daniella has multiple tools for you to access and implement.

“Beginning as an EAL teacher in a primary setting, I quickly realised that being the only qualified EAL teacher in the school was not my primary role. I made it my responsibility to ensure that every teacher in the school had the tools to be a confident and capable EAL teacher.” Daniella Tripodi.

I love the fantastic variety of workshops and conferences on offer. Always look forward to Critical Agendas PD’s.

Just a big Thank you for giving us the opportunity to attend the Critical Agenda Workshop yesterday.  David presented a great program, lots of handy strategies and he was very engaging and supportive. Highly recommended.  I was very happy we did not have to do any Role play’s.

“It is the first P.L. in a long long time that I haven’t been checking in with my watch.”

The best P.D. I have attended in living memory!” I loved every minute of this engaging, interesting and informative PD. And I have been teaching for 40+ years!
