No social media, no problem? What's the reality for K-12?

There has been a lot of noise about the social media ban, but let's talk to some educational stakeholders who are really following what is happening on the ground.

Hosted by Clare Mackie and featuring, Daniel Donahoo, Head of Projects at Project Rockit, Darcey, 15 year old student from Project Rockit's Youth Collective, Jacqueline Manison, President of Digital Learning and Teaching Victoria and Kirsty Watts, Head of Technology at Kilvington Grammar School.

Daniel Donahoo is Head of Projects at PROJECT ROCKIT where he oversees Launchpad Studio, organisation's innovative youth design team that employees over 50 young Australians aged 12-21 to advise, create and advocate to improve the systems that govern their lives. PROJECT ROCKIT's Launchpad have worked with Office for eSafety, Meta, Telstra Foundation, Roblox, University of Melbourne and more on projects that at their core address the organisation's vision of igniting youth voice against hate and prejudice.

Darcey (15) is a member of Project Rockit's Youth Collective. She is an avid hockey player and emerging thespian who has worked on projects exploring algorithmic literacy, producing resources to support students transition to high school and appeared in the New York Times discussing the social media ban in December.

Jac Manison is an education leader specialising in digital learning, AI, and future-focused curriculum design. With experience across schools, industry, and the not-for-profit sector, she works at the intersection of education, technology, and leadership. She supports schools to align vision, systems, and pedagogy in an evolving digital landscape.
