Echoes & Reflections Professional Development
Presented by Echoes & Reflections
Echoes & Reflections is a comprehensive, free Holocaust education programme that empowers middle and high school educators with dynamic classroom materials and professional development designed to make this essential history accessible, accurate, and deeply impactful for students. What makes Echoes & Reflections uniquely powerful is its partnership foundation: it combines the curriculum and professional development expertise of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), access to the USC Shoah Foundation's Visual History Archive of survivor and witness testimonies through IWitness, and Yad Vashem's unparalleled historical expertise and primary source materials. The result is a modular, standards-based programme that teachers can adapt to their specific grade levels, subject areas, and instructional contexts. Professional development sessions teach educators how to integrate audiovisual testimony — drawing on over 1,600 eyewitness accounts — into their instruction, creating learning experiences that move beyond facts and dates to foster critical thinking, empathy, and understanding of the consequences of hatred and indifference. Since 2005, thousands of teachers across the United States have completed Echoes & Reflections training, reaching hundreds of thousands of students with thoughtful, vetted Holocaust education.
