Restorative Practices for Educators - Virtual

Restorative Practices for Educators is a two-day virtual training from the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP), the global leader in restorative practices education and research. This introductory experience provides educators with the foundational theory, practical skills, and confidence needed to begin implementing restorative approaches in their schools — transforming how they engage with students, colleagues, and parents to build stronger, more connected school communities. Over two days of interactive online learning, participants explore the core principles of restorative practices including being explicit about practice, setting high expectations while being genuinely supportive, building community through proactive circles and conversations, giving direct and constructive feedback, asking accountability questions, and applying the full restorative practices continuum from informal to formal interventions. The training is led by experienced IIRP instructors who are themselves skilled practitioners, ensuring that the learning is grounded in real-world application rather than abstract theory. The IIRP is a graduate school that has been at the forefront of restorative practices for decades, offering everything from introductory workshops to full graduate degree programs. Their Whole-School Change model has been implemented in districts across the United States, demonstrating that restorative practices can fundamentally shift school climate when adopted systematically.
