ART JAM!

KID smART is a New Orleans-based nonprofit organisation dedicated to transforming education through the arts, providing arts-integrated programming in public schools and community settings that helps children develop creativity, critical thinking, and confidence. For over two decades, KID smART has partnered with schools, teaching artists, and community organisations to ensure that every child in New Orleans has access to high-quality arts education. ART JAM! is KID smART's free, family-friendly celebration of creativity and learning, bringing together arts-based workshops, live performances, and community connections in one vibrant event. Held at 2541 Bayou Road, this event features hands-on activities from an impressive lineup of community partners including Whole Village Art Therapy, NOLA Artist Incubator, NOLA Nature School, Art Camp 504, NOLA Public Library, and many more. Families can enjoy live music, children's book readings, and creative stations—including Pixie Dust's Sparkle Station—while connecting with the organisations that make New Orleans' arts and education ecosystem so special. Thanks to the Sunstone Project, free books are available on a first-come, first-served basis. ART JAM! is a wonderful example of how arts-integrated community events can spark joy, build connections, and inspire lifelong learning.
