Cocktails for KID smART

Cocktails for KID smART is an annual fundraising event hosted by KID smART, New Orleans' leading arts education organisation, celebrating the joys of creative learning through an evening of artwork, hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, and vibrant community connection. While primarily a fundraiser rather than a traditional PD session, this event brings together educators, artists, supporters, and community members who share a commitment to making arts-integrated education accessible to every child in New Orleans. Founded in 1999 by artists Campbell Hutchinson and Allison Stewart, KID smART has served more than 70,000 students and 15,000 teachers across New Orleans over its 26-year history. The organisation's core work centres on arts integration—embedding professional teaching artists in classrooms year-round through their Creative Schools programme and providing sustained professional development for teachers through their AXIS series. Attending Cocktails for KID smART offers educators and supporters the opportunity to engage with the organisation's mission, view student artwork, connect with teaching artists, and contribute to sustaining arts-rich education programming in New Orleans public schools.
