KID smART, the New Orleans-based nonprofit dedicated to arts-integrated education, celebrates the grand opening of its new Center for Arts & Education with this ribbon-cutting ceremony. Located at 2533 Columbus Street in the historic Bayou Road neighbourhood, the new facility represents a transformative milestone for the organisation and for arts education access in New Orleans — enabling KID smART to expand its programming reach by more than 250%. The KID smART Center for Arts & Education features multiple visual arts studios, a dance and movement studio, podcasting studio, performing arts studio, and flexible training spaces that will support an exciting expansion of programming for students, educators, and community members of all ages. The facility was made possible through the Creativity at the Center Campaign, a $5.5 million comprehensive fundraising effort that funded both construction and future programming sustainability. Designed with accessibility at its core, the centre features adaptable furniture, elevators, and expanding entryways to ensure everyone can participate in joyful creative learning.
