Learning Forward Academy application deadline

The Learning Forward Academy is the flagship deep learning experience offered by Learning Forward — the leading professional association dedicated to advancing excellence in professional learning for educators. With a rich history spanning over 20 years and more than 1,800 graduates across 41 Academy classes, this program represents one of the most sustained and rigorous professional development experiences available to education leaders. The Academy is a 2½-year program built around problem-based learning, where teams of educators from the same district work together on a real problem of practice aligned to the Standards for Professional Learning. The program combines face-to-face sessions (12 sessions totalling 96 hours per class), web-based discussions, access to experienced coaches, and registration for two Annual Conferences. Participants engage with cutting-edge research and practice on professional learning standards, continuous improvement processes, leadership, and advocacy. The Academy is specifically designed for teams rather than individuals — districts send cohorts of teachers, teacher-leaders, instructional coaches, principals, regional leaders, and superintendents to work collaboratively on shared challenges. This team-based approach ensures that learning translates directly into practice within participants' own contexts. Scholarships are available through the Learning Forward Foundation. Upon completion, participants receive formal graduation and a three-year membership in Learning Forward.
