Nat'l Center for Restorative Justice Professional Development

Presented by Nat'l Center for Restorative Justice

The National Center for Restorative Justice provides comprehensive certification training that equips educators, juvenile justice professionals, youth support workers, and families with the knowledge and skills to implement restorative practices in their communities. Operating since 2016, the Center offers a relational approach to conflict that supports communities in moving toward more accountable, empathic cultures. Training is available in multiple formats: one-day introductory sessions covering core restorative practices, approaches, and implementation strategies; intensive two and three-day certification workshops where participants earn trainer certification along with 19 clock hours through PSESD; on-site professional development sessions with flexible agendas tailored to individual school communities; asynchronous online courses; and virtual workshop options. The Center also offers Restorative Start, a specialised ecosystem of workshops, onsite visits, and ongoing support designed specifically for Pre-K and elementary school communities. Upon completing certification, participants are authorised and encouraged to bring the training back to their own schools, with access to customisable presentation materials. In-person training sessions are offered throughout the year in Seattle, Portland, Kansas City, and Chicago.
