Teachers Leaders

New Leaders' Teacher Leaders program is a focused two-part coaching series designed to amplify the impact of experienced teachers who serve in formal or informal leadership roles within their schools. Recognising that teacher leaders are uniquely positioned to influence instructional quality across an entire building, this program equips participants with the coaching and facilitation skills needed to support colleagues effectively while maintaining their own classroom excellence. The series covers essential competencies including how to lead productive professional learning communities, deliver constructive instructional feedback, and navigate the interpersonal dynamics that arise when peers become mentors. New Leaders, a nationally recognised nonprofit that has trained thousands of education leaders since 2001, grounds this program in their research-validated leadership framework which identifies the specific practices that distinguish high-impact school leaders. Participants engage in scenario-based learning, practise coaching conversations using real classroom situations, and develop personalised action plans for driving improvement in their school contexts. The two-part structure allows for application between sessions, enabling teacher leaders to implement new strategies and return with reflections and questions that deepen their learning.
