Join the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA) for this free web seminar exploring The Third Decadal U.S. Carbon Cycle Science Plan—a landmark community-driven document outlining the science needs and research priorities for carbon cycle science over the coming decade. Developed in partnership with the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR), Cooperative Programs for the Advancement of Earth System Science (CPAESS), and the U.S. Carbon Cycle Science Program, this plan builds on two previous decadal plans published in 1999 and 2011. During this one-hour session, you'll learn about the key scientific questions driving the next decade of carbon cycle research, how these priorities were identified through broad community engagement, and what the implications are for science education and environmental literacy. This is a valuable opportunity for science educators to deepen their content knowledge on one of the most critical topics in earth and climate science, and to bring current, real-world scientific planning processes into their classrooms. All attendees receive a certificate of participation and 100 NSTA activity points upon completing the end-of-program survey.
