Texts and human experiences (Standard and Advanced)

Presented by ETA NSW

Thursday, June 11, 2026ยท12:00 AMPast Event

The English Teachers' Association of NSW (ETA NSW) offers this professional development series on 'Texts and Human Experiences,' the Common Module studied by all HSC English students across Standard, Advanced, and English Studies courses. Delivered as three live sessions on consecutive Thursday afternoons in June 2026, the series provides teachers with deep engagement with this foundational module, exploring how texts represent individual and collective human experiences and how composers use language to shape meaning. The sessions closely analyse the module requirements through practical activities and guided questions that teachers can adapt for their own classrooms, examine human experiences in depth through a variety of text forms, and prepare teachers to support students with the unseen text analysis required in HSC Paper 1. Pre-recorded versions of each session are available to registrants for 30 days after the event, offering flexibility for those who cannot attend live. ETA NSW is the professional association for English teachers in New South Wales, committed to promoting excellence in English teaching and providing high-quality professional learning aligned to the NSW syllabus.
