Bridging the Gap: Strengthening Dyslexia Provision Across Australian Schools

Learning Difficulties Australia (LDA) presents a research-focused webinar examining how well Australian schools are supporting students with dyslexia and what systemic changes are needed to improve outcomes. 'Bridging the Gap' draws on new research exploring best practice and system-level gaps in dyslexia provision across Victorian schools, with implications that extend to schools throughout Australia and internationally. Presented by Dr Bec Marland, a course chair, lecturer, and researcher in inclusive education at Victoria University, the webinar identifies what's working in current dyslexia provision, where significant challenges remain, and how teachers and principals can drive meaningful change to create more equitable, inclusive, and effective learning environments. Dr Marland's doctoral research focused specifically on dyslexia in school contexts, and she brings both academic rigour and practical classroom experience from her teaching career in the UK and Australia. The webinar will be recorded and available for two weeks after the event.
