Bridging practical skills gaps

When working scientifically skills are required for the delivery of purposeful, practical primary science lessons, how can teachers bridge practical skill gaps amongst groups of children? Drawing on findings from the latest research, plus classroom observations from CIEC's Advisory Teachers, we'll be discussing how missing practical skills can affect the success of practical work, and share a blend of explicit skills teaching, plus the use of context-based strategies to get children working like scientists, focussing on improving resilience, collaboration and disciplinary skills.
