By exploring tools like Aila, Gemini, and ChatGPT, we aim to demystify GenAI and collaboratively envision its ethical and practical integration into Initial Teacher Education. Are you curious about the role of AI in shaping the future of teaching? This interactive session will provide a practical introduction to Generative AI tools like Aila, Gemini, and ChatGPT, specifically tailored for ITE trainers and their trainees. We will explore concrete examples of how these technologies can support various aspects of teacher development, from streamlining lesson planning and creating engaging resources to analysing feedback and supporting research. Crucially, we will engage in a critical discussion about the ethical implications, potential pitfalls, and the responsibility of educators in utilizing GenAI. This session aims to empower you with a foundational understanding and spark creative ideas for integrating GenAI to cultivate innovative and future-ready primary science teachers.
