CLEAPSS: Supporting teachers to use formative assessment probes

During the past 2 years CLEAPSS has worked with science leaders on how to link Predict-Explain-Observe (PEO) probes with practical work. This session will examine how CLEAPSS practical activities can be used to do this. Through pupil outcomes we will share examples of the impact that probes have had; describing what helped science leaders and teachers introduce and establish their use, highlighting the types of support they found useful. Participants will be given: two probes, the corresponding CLEAPSS activities and other supporting resources. There will be time to consider what, from our learnings and resources, might be used, or adapted for use, in other kinds of professional learning formats.
