Curriculum making for climate change education - CANCELLED

Thursday 8 January 2026Β·11:15 am

CANCELLED BY PRESENTERS 9th December This session with Claire Seeley and Leigh Hoath will consider principles for high-quality curriculum making to implement climate change education effectively into science teaching and learning. They will take an evidence-informed approach to discussing what works and why – particularly focussing on the need for place-based specificity when undertaking curriculum development. The session will also support planning which mitigates eco-anxiety in children and young people, calls for collective action rather than activism, and is built on a secure basis of foundational knowledge for effective climate change education. This session will draw upon curriculum making guidance written by Claire for Climate Adapted Pathways for Education (CAPE) which sequences climate change knowledge in the primary science curriculum.
