Early Career Teachers - A 2 year programme of support for secondary science
The session will review the ECF and how it underpins the two-year induction period. Participants will explore how the programme supports science teachers in areas such as assessment, curriculum planning and data analysis I will introduce the structure, purpose, and practical delivery of a two-year support programme tailored for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) in secondary science. Grounded in the Early Career Framework (ECF), the programme is designed to build confidence, subject knowledge, and pedagogical expertise through sustained, structured development. The session is ideal for ECTs, mentors, science leads, and professional development coordinators supporting ECTs. Outcomes: By the end of this session, participants will be able to: Understand the aims and structure of the two-year ECT support programme. Identify key areas of focus for science-specific development across the ECF. Plan for impactful, ongoing support that promotes retention and professional growth.
