Join us for an engaging and hands-on workshop where you’ll discover the power of the oscilloscope, hosted by Alex Wu. This session is perfect for anyone looking to gain confidence using oscilloscopes; whether you're a complete beginner, revisiting practical skills, or seeking a refresher on waveform analysis. Please note a maximum of 18 will be permitted on the day, on a first-come, first-served basis into the room, thank you. This workshop offers a step-by-step introduction to the oscilloscope through practical means, helping you understand and visualize electrical signals in real time. You’ll explore key oscilloscope functions such as adjusting positional voltage offsets and time scales, understanding trigger settings, and analyzing waveforms. Throughout the session, you’ll also become familiar with important terms like frequency, amplitude, and wavelength, as you learn how to troubleshoot and measure various signals with ease. Each activity is designed to build your confidence and provide you with the tools to confidently use an oscilloscope in a school or lab environment. Covering basic signal visualization, more advanced troubleshooting techniques, and discussing new experiment ideas, this workshop ensures you're equipped to handle common lab scenarios and support your students’ learning experiences. This hands-on session will be structured as a dynamic, interactive experience.
