Top tips for primary inclusion

This session is aimed at providing useful tips on how to include all children in the classroom as the demands increase. Inclusion in primary classrooms has become a major issue throughout the country and many teachers are struggling to cope. During my 37 years of teaching 4- 11 year olds, I have taught a wide range of children in the primary sector and sought out my own CPD to be able to improve my teaching practice to include all children on a daily basis and learned from my own failures and successes along with my colleagues. Aims: To promote positive, effective inclusive strategies using a slide show with directed questions for the participants to become involved in a discussion. To encourage the participants to share their tips in effective inclusive practice. To share my knowledge of Science Capital and using it effectively in the classroom to benefit inclusivity. To provide a handy A3 Inclusion Tips Poster for all participants to use in class. To provide all participants with a copy of my " Science Capital Primary Teacher's Handbook" to refer to in class. Outcomes: Participants will be able to have a clear understanding of what being inclusive means and how to implement strategies in their classroom. Participants will be able to refer to the handouts for reference and use in class them to enhance their teaching skills.
