Problem Strings for Fluency and Beyond
Part of ATOMIC Conference March 2026
Monday 23 March 2026·5:50 pm
Problem strings are not just for number operations. They are a powerful routine to support the development of big ideas, strategies, and models in all domains. Problem strings employ carefully crafted sequences of related problems and thoughtful representations of strategies to develop mathematical models as tools for thinking and fluency. Participants will engage first-hand and analyze classroom video to develop an understanding of how to use problem strings to achieve fluency.
