Ramps, Maps and Blueprints: Project-Based Learning in Action
Part of ATOMIC Conference March 2026
Monday 23 March 2026·5:50 pm
This session explores project-based learning that integrate content from traditional algebra and geometry courses designed for students not enrolled in traditional math pathways. Through projects such as ramp design, geocaching, and blueprint challenges, students apply algebra and geometry in authentic contexts that increase engagement and deepen conceptual understanding. Participants will experience a sample mini-project, review student work, and leave with adaptable project templates, rubrics, and strategies for making math more active, equitable, and meaningful.
