Myth-Busting with Online Simulations in Science for Division 2 Teachers
Part of CATCA 2026
Thursday 19 February 2026·5:20 pm
Ready to challenge what you think you know? Learn how students can bust myths and distinguish fact from fiction using Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning (CER) strategies with ExploreLearning Gizmos. Imagine being a detective, piecing together clues to solve a mystery. With our interactive simulations, students can make claims, gather evidence, and use reasoning to evaluate their claims. Participants will experience an interactive Gizmos myth-busting lesson and gain access to a CER prompt library. Access to Gizmos for K-6 teachers has been provided by Alberta Education. Please bring an electronic device to get the most out of this session.
