PreK/K Literacy: How to Learn Letters WITHOUT doing Letter of the Week
Part of CATCA 2026
Friday 20 February 2026·5:20 pm
This session will be packed with hands-on literacy games and activities that I will bring in and demonstrate. Worksheets are not effective at the Pre-K and Kindergarten level as children learn best when they are moving, exploring, and manipulating objects. I will share many fun, engaging activities that you can take back and use in your classroom Monday morning, using materials you likely already have. I have been teaching PreK in Red Deer Catholic for 15 yrs and in my classroom, learning is active, playful, and full of movement through games and hands-on experiences.
