Still Fighting - A story of grit, grace and growth
My presentation shares the story of my life beginning with my traumatic accident in 1982, and the personal battles that shaped who I am today. I speak about the resilience and perseverance I developed over the years and how those qualities helped me become a two-time Paralympian and compete at the highest levels of sport. I also address the challenges I’ve faced as a wheelchair user—some that can be overcome with skill, creativity, and mindset, and others, like inaccessible environments, that require broader change. Through humor, storytelling, and honest reflection, I explore how shifting our perspective can help us navigate adversity and create the life we want. My goal is to inspire others to see their own strength, rethink what is possible, and find their own path forward.
