Using Picture Books as Mentor Texts for Curriculum
Part of CATCA 2026
Thursday 19 February 2026·8:00 pm
Learn more about how we use picture books to introduce new units, deepen our knowledge, and anchor our hands-on work. Our lessons are not based on worksheet packages but rather we read together, question, discuss, and build understanding. We will share how we find books, when we read them, and our process of the interactive read-aloud. We will share more about the language our students use in our grand conversations.
