Model WHO: Immersive Experience to Teach Global Public Health

This session will detail the development, refinement, and ongoing evaluation of an immersive activity to engage students in learning about global public health. Inspired by Model UN, the clinical coordinator for the global public health course in the Nursing program began developing a Model WHO activity to utilize in clinical. Through the semester, students participate in multiple activities that culminate in a mock World Health Assembly meeting. The goal of the activity is to help students connect the work of the World Health Organization; global public health concepts; and cultural, political, and historical influences on health outcomes around the world.
