Taboo Topics: Resources to Help Navigate Puberty, Relationships, and Sex Education for Individuals with ASD and Other Disabilities

The taboo topics....as much as we may want to, we cannot bury our heads in the sand. In partnership with parents/caregivers, educators should be teaching students with autism and other disabilities about healthy relationships, their changing bodies, and topics related to sex. In order to help increase the safety of our students, we must provide appropriate and accurate information. This session will provide a variety of resources created and developed by experts and researchers in the field of autism. We will take a dive into the resources so participants can see the variety of options and begin to make plans for what could be best for their students.
