Indigenous Art and Knowledge Walk
This walk will include a visit to the new Tawatinâ LRT Bridge, a space rich in Indigenous ways of knowing and being. The bridge offers meaningful opportunities for reflection, dialogue, and connection to the program of studies through art, history, and place-based learning. 11:40 p.m. — Tawatinâ Bridge Meeting location: North side of the Tawatinâ LRT Bridge, near the Trans Canada Trail Pavilion. We will begin our walk at the Tawatinâ Bridge, which features more than 550 Indigenous art pieces, the majority created by Indigenous artists. During this hour, we will explore selected artworks and the turtle effigy, engaging in discussion and reflection on the diverse stories, teachings, and cultural expressions represented within this place.
