Recognizing and Responding to Family Violence (skills-building workshop)

Teachers are in a position to notice the signs of family violence may receive disclosures from students or parents. This workshop is offering support to to build confidence in supporting students and community members experiencing family violence. Topics include: learning to recognize the various types of abuse and the cycle of violence, the role of power dynamics and coercive control and common family violence stereotypes. Participants will be more aware of the stigmas and barriers that prevent victims from accessing support and learn about local community services to help connect people in need.
