The Things They Carry: Partnering with Families of Students on the Autism Spectrum

Students on the autism spectrum need continuity across contexts, so effective collaboration with parents or guardians is crucial. This presenter, who has been on BOTH sides of these touchy relationships, explores the individual experiences and intersectional perspectives that can challenge effective communication between home and school. Participants will gather new sensibilities and new sensitivities, as well as practical, empathic strategies for building powerful partnerships.
