AI 201: Implementation in Action

Many Michigan districts have moved past “What is AI?” and are now wrestling with a harder question: How do we actually implement this well for staff and students? In this AI 201 implementation session, leaders from Lapeer Community Schools, St. Joseph Public Schools, and Oxford Community Schools will share how they are moving from exploration to intentional, districtwide action with AI. Panelists will walk through the concrete steps they are taking in their implementation journeys—forming cross-functional AI teams, aligning AI use to district strategic plans, setting guardrails and guidelines, designing professional learning, and supporting early pilots in classrooms and departments. Central office administrators will hear what has worked, what has shifted along the way, and what these districts wish they had known before they started. The session will blend short district stories with structured reflection, giving participants time to connect lessons learned to their own local context and priorities.
