Cultivating Leadership from Within: Building District Leadership Pipelines

Thursday 22 January 2026·3:30 pm

Developing strong, equity-driven leaders is one of the most pressing challenges facing districts today. Battle Creek Public Schools, in partnership with Western Michigan University, designed the Aspiring Leaders Program to transform promising educators into inspiring leaders who are ready to drive meaningful change from within. This session shares the design, implementation, and tangible impact of a program that moves participants from aspiring to inspiring—building the confidence, competence, and vision to lead with equity and excellence. Through embedded coaching, authentic improvement projects, and strategic university partnership, the program has built internal capacity, strengthened culture, and created a sustainable leadership pipeline. Presenters will share measurable outcomes, powerful participant transformations, and authentic lessons learned. Attendees will engage in collaborative problem-solving and leave with a replicable framework, implementation tools, and renewed inspiration to grow their own leaders and sustain improvement from the inside out.
