Ignite your Leadership Legacy Through Developing and Implementing Portrait Work

Thursday 22 January 2026·3:30 pm

A portrait is an intentional representation that captures the key qualities that make someone unique. If your learners and educators were represented in a portrait, what would the key qualities be? Through a strategic-planning process, a school district can invite stakeholder groups to develop their Portrait of a Learner and Portrait of an Educator. When parents, students, teachers, community members, and board members all help shape the key qualities that make up your Portraits, the culture shifts. This work, through meaningful collaboration will become the guiding compass for your district goals, professional development, strategic hiring, and student and staff recognition. This session will provide you with a strategic approach to develop your own Portrait of a Learner and/or Educator with your community. This will include the framework we successfully used within our community, guiding questions to use with your stakeholder groups, and customizable templates to document your process.
