Digital Diet: Supporting Healthy Digital Habits for K–12 Students & Families

Wednesday 29 April 2026·1:00 pm

The Digital Diet presentation introduces a practical, family-centered framework that helps educators and community partners guide families toward healthier, more balanced screen-time habits. Participants learn how to use shared language, relatable analogies, and actionable strategies to support family engagement around digital use. Learning objectives include understanding the core components of the Digital Diet framework, identifying ways to integrate the framework into MTSS and family-engagement efforts, and developing confidence in communicating with families about screen-time routines and expectations. Interactive learning opportunities include reflection activities that help participants assess current practices, small-group discussions centered on real-world family scenarios, and hands-on application of the Digital Diet tools to model effective conversations with families. These activities ensure participants leave with practical skills and ready-to-use messaging they can implement immediately in their school or community setting.
