Enhancing the Michigan Model for Health Curriculum with Movement
This session introduces the integration of the Interrupting Prolonged sitting with ACTivity (InPACT) classroom physical activity program with the Michigan Model for Health™ (MMH) curriculum. Participants will learn how to use the InPACT-MMH integration guide to incorporate exercise snacks into MMH lessons and explore resources that support teacher implementation and family engagement. Interactive activities - including lesson integration walkthroughs, exercise snack demonstrations, brainstorming activities, guide exploration, and reflection opportunities - will help participants learn to apply the integration guide in practical ways. By the end of the session, participants will accomplish the following learning objectives: 1) Describe the purpose and core components of the InPACT program and the Michigan Model for Health™ (MMH) curriculum; 2) Explain how the InPACT–MMH integration guide supports the incorporation of exercise snacks into MMH lessons; 3) Identify resources and strategies for engaging families in supporting physical activity at home; 4) Evaluate the feasibility and potential impact of implementing the integrated InPACT–MMH curriculum.
