Perform, Respond, Connect, and Create—Exploring a New Festival Model

After a brief overview of common equity issues in festivals, participants will explore a new festival model that aims to address these issues and includes performing, responding, connecting, and creating. A pilot festival teacher participant will share specific takeaways and learnings for how the experience impacted their practice and students. Participants will discuss how alternative festival models could better support the needs of all students. A document with strategies and action steps will be shared.
