Micro:bits Across the Curriculum
Does your school have Micro:bits, but you're not sure how to incorporate them into your project ideas? This session will explore how to integrate coding and computational thinking into your unit plans to create inquiry-based summative assessments that will enhance your student's learning. Starting with the foundational knowledge needed to code Micro:bits with block-based coding, the session will help you develop the skills and confidence to bring these devices into every subject area. This session is an active workshop where you will be able to collaborate with our experienced facilitator as well as your fellow teachers to create a bank of ideas and lessons to use in your classroom. Bonus! Join this session to be entered into a draw to win your own Micro:bit! A laptop or Chromebook is required for this session. Session Objectives: 1. Develop an understanding of coding and computational thinking 2. Familiarity with Micro:bit devices and MakeCode app 3. Develop confidence to utilize Micro:bits or similar in the classroom
