Multiplication Matters - Math Games to Teach and Practice Multiplication

Whether it is mastering multiplication or gaining proficiency with multiplication involving multi-digit factors, the games in this session will help teacher as well as provide engaging practice. Come prepared to learn and play a variety of our favorite games for multiplication concepts and skills. The games are easy to learn and integrate into whole class or small group instruction. Simple cards and dice will be used and a handout with games and game boards will be provided. If you are a teacher that has students with gaps in this area, this is the session for you! Session Objectives: 1. Learn multiplication strategies including square facts, skip counting, estimation, arrays 2. Participants will learn how to differentiate games to meet the needs of all students in their classrooms 3. Participants will see student work and learn how this can be used for assessment purposes.
